No Longer Choose Between Comfort & Performance

You no longer need to choose between charter catamarans offering comfort with poor sailing capacities, or performance catamarans with very limited comfort. Class 6 finally offers both worlds.

Security

Innovative Spine Concept provides extra buoyancy and rigidity for ultimate safety at sea

Comfort

44m² / 475ft² living area on platform - 100% customizable to your style

Performance

14T light displacement with 100% carbon construction for exceptional speed

"Unquestionably, O Yachts fills an otherwise unoccupied niche – for the moment – in the world of luxurious and ultra fast catamarans. Its Class 6 manages to combine speed, ease of handling, and safety, in a living space previously reserved for big cruising boats."

— Multihulls World Sea Trial

Genesis

Class 6 comes from the collaboration between Dan Levy and Laurent Bourgnon. We wanted to create the largest catamaran designed for a couple to go on a sabbatical without a skipper.

Security becomes factor #1. The "Spine Concept" is the exclusive answer.

The Spine Concept

Revolutionary wave-piercing design that offers both comfort and security

Spine Concept ComparisonClass 6 Spine Front View

Security Benefits

  • Reduces impact in waves by driving water into tunnels without sharp angles
  • Additional buoyancy from the Spine keeps the bow up
  • Extra rigidity from full carbon construction (32 layers, stern to bow)
  • The Spine becomes a third hull in gales for additional stability

Comfort Benefits

  • Mast placed ideally centered without sacrificing living area
  • Greatly improved sea motion compared to conventional catamarans
  • Huge 44m² / 475ft² living area on wetdeck
  • Manageable main sail size (same as 53ft catamarans)

How It Works

Classic catamarans use transversal bulkheads to spread mast load. The Spine Concept uses a carbon longitudinal beam instead, allowing perfectly centered mast placement while maximizing living space and improving sea motion.

Technical Features

Long Transom

Long Transom

Your private dock. Easy boarding from tender thanks to extra long transom that acts as a dock.

Lifting Platform

Lifting Platform

Light carbon aluminum platform. Simple and great at anchor. Prevents tender from swinging at sea.

Lifting Rudder

Lifting Rudder

Reduced draft capability for shallow anchorages and easy beaching when needed.

Appendages

Keel or Daggerboard

Daggerboard: Better upwind angle (~5% gain), positive lift with curved option.
Keel: Extra payload, simple management, propeller protection.

Solar Deck

Solar Integration

Deck-mounted solar panels for energy independence during extended cruising.

Furling Boom

In-Boom Furling

Hydraulic in-boom mainsail furling for easy solo sailing and quick reef management.

Amazing Performance

Speed is security. When a strong gale is coming, your best option is to stay ahead of the low pressure system. Only a fast catamaran will let you escape from bad weather.

Performance vs Race Sail Plan

Two mast options: Performance mast for short-handed sailing, Race mast for ultimate line honors contention

Why Class 6 is Intrinsically Fast

  • • Slim, almost vertical bow flare designed for speed
  • • 14T light displacement with full carbon construction
  • • Sails at close to 20 knots with smaller sail area than competitors
  • • When pushed, easily exceeds 20 knots
  • • More user-friendly and safer than larger-sail alternatives

Solo Sailing Capable

Spine Concept with centered mast offers 109m² main sail (same as 53ft). Excellent for solo sailing.

  • • Use forward triangle for Jib / Drifter / Code0 / Gennaker
  • • Simple to use with furlers
  • • Drifter sails upwind at 6.3kts with just 4.8kts wind (proven)
  • • Optional hydraulics for complete solo management

"This 63 feet semi-custom multihull combines speed, safety, comfort and even a bit of glamour. What's its personal touch? It's got to be the central hull so close to the surface that it's hard to decide if this is a cat or a tri!"
